Three children set off for the sacred Māori mountain Taranaki Mounga. Eleven-year-old Sam believes the climb might heal her from her illness. Along the way she meets Bronco, a Māori boy longing for his father’s attention and Mallory, a sensitive boy who is mourning his mother. Together they embark on an off the beaten track journey full of danger. With a lot of humour and warmth, the film tells a touching story of friendship, courage, and a spiritual connection to land and traditions. Set against the backdrop of New Zealand’s stunning landscape, it’s a coming-of-age story about acceptance, healing, and believing in miracles.
